Situgal village, in the south of Riau Province, is located just outside of Tesso Nilo, which is a biodiversity rich area with elephants. In this village, clearing forest for acacia plantation by Riau Andalan Pulp&Paper (RAPP), which is a member company of Pacific Resources International Holding (APRIL), was on going.
